Subject: Junior Players guru needed

Staxic [del] to All
I've looked around, but can't find this information.

Junior Players - when do they graduate to your team? I saw in the FAQ it says that the Jr Coach will decide when they're ready, but how does that happen? Do I get an email notification, or an alert saying "Jon Jones is 18, ready to step up to main team" and then I get to inspect him and see if I want to keep him?
The reason I ask is that I'm new...my adult team isn't all that great, and my junior team isn't all that great...but I'd like to get my juniors on my adult team so I can fire all the guys above 25 that suck. Why pay them if they'll never be as good as a junior I'm training? Only problem is, I don't know how / when my juniors will be moved up to main team.
Can anyone help me out? Any junior team gurus out there?
Thanks

On the page that shows all your juniors there is a column named weeks. That is the number of weeks left until that junior "comes out" of your junior school. The number goes down by 1 every Wednesday and when one of them reaches zero your office will post a line like " 1 junior is ready to join you team". You can then click the "contract" link that, will appear on the junior page, next to their name and they will be on your team page. You can only see their skills after you contract them(and page their weeks wage).

If your are just starting i would suggest scrapping your junior school all together and improve your team thought the transfer market. It takes about a full season to get a junior school producing regularly and without a decent(excellent or better) coach your not going to get any profitable juniors.

He's right, without a really good junior coach, like at least Incredible, you won't get the best out of them. Even with a magical coach and an established school I only get better kids than what I can buy for 10k on the market whenever I want, every once in a while, like 1 every month or two.

The junior school can be a lottery, eventually with a lot of investment you will get a player who is worth 1-2m immediately, but it takes time and money for coach recruitment and wages.

If I were you I would decide what I want to train, get a head coach that can train that skill, and then buy the trainees. There will be young players on the market available on the cheap who are going to be better than most of the youths you get from an established school. You can be more choosy with starting skills, and they are all available immediately.

The youth team is better for an established team in my opinion. What I mean by established is at least 1 season of training young players and ready to sell a few, and then build off the sale profits kind of thing.

also if you get really lucky you might be able to sell a youth player right out of the squad like me for 5M USD :) I'd recommend starting a youth school when you are notably making a profit week in and out and have your training regime established.

Yeah, I just got one of those kind of kids recently, it feels great.

I mean logically it makes sense to wait, but it is fun to start one right away. I did and I don't really regret it, but I think if I started over now knowing what I know I would wait a bit.

thanks for the answers.
I was looking around on transfers, but maybe I was looking for too good of players. Prices were astronomical. I will look around some more.

You don't need to buy stars at first. You need to pick an area to train first, pace is common, then buy a bunch of youngster(17-20) who are as good or slightly better than you have now. The idea is to get 1 to 3 pops out of them and then sell them for a profit, while holding on to 2 or 3 of the most talented to improve your team. After going through 2 or3 cycles or so of that you should have 3-6 reasonably talented players to build you team around and should be winning regularly in C-league.

You should be able to get decent young players for around 50k-75k. 2 of my best players right now(after 4 seasons of training) were bought for less then 50k

Alternatively, you can train longterm like I did with my first set of players. I bought a lot of my current/former defenders when they were 17-18 and just started to sell them now at 24-26. Got em for less than 10k each and sold them all for huge profits($1.5mil+)

You have to look often to get good deals on players though. If you don't have time you will almost definitely end up overspending like I do. But I have been around a lot longer and have a lot of cash to through around.

Now is probably not the best time to buy either, preseason and the first few weeks of the regular season is when a lot of people are shopping.

i completely agree. I always do my shopping at the end of the season or at a needs basis only.

Thanks for all the info. and help.

So I noticed my funds were getting ate up by a bunch of ravenous youngsters. Took your advice and tore the youth school down until I get a couple seasons under my belt and better money coming in.

Now I'm trying to find a stadium FAQ.

Wouldn't recommend building your stadium much unless you are consistently selling out your home matches.

It is going to be hard to find good info about the stadiums because they just changed with the variable ticket pricing. So no one really knows what is best. I would suggest upping the ticket price a little each week until you are just barely selling out.

I think it's right to wait on stadium upgrades, the starting money is limited and meaningful stadium improvements are expensive. I would get at least 1 season worth of training and selling youth before I went there.

Most of my starting money I'd put toward making that training system as efficient and profitable as possible, by hiring the best coaches and trainees I could afford.

Remember that you can go into negative funds, up to -250k before you can stop spending and -500k before they take your team away.

The only drawback is a finance charge, roughly 3% if I'm not mistaken, it's in the rules in the last section I think. Also some ticket price info for the different stadium sections if you haven't seen that already.

Should mention that finance charge can get expensive and you don't really want to go into too much debt unless you have a plan to get out of it sooner rather than later.
