Subject: Israel – The Throwback

2010-06-06 17:04:06
It is shame that the last ‘intelligent’ thread was closed due to some unrelated issue (even if interesting), so here is Round 3 (dedicated to Tom Sharpe)

The fact that there are no ships sailing towards Gaza now doesn’t mean things are quiet or without events. One need only look outside his window in many cities around the world to see some demonstration regarding Gaza or Israel. Here in Israel-Gaza-Egypt region things are naturally ‘exciting’, so maybe this thread will help us all keep up-to-date on things as they happen.

Now that the Rachel Corrie is being unloaded and the goods are transferred into Gaza, here are a few items I wanted to share with those still interested in this.
{Latest news; is that the goods have been stopped at the border to Gaza as the Hammas doesn’t want to be seen as cooperating with Israel by accepting the goods. Irish Peace Nobel prize winner Mairead Corrigan is there supervising things alongside the UN and Red-Cross reps.}
Of course you don’t have to read anything, it’s easier to watch a horrifying news report and later ignore facts when they are revealed, but if you are keen on learning, at least some other angles, then here are a few options.

1. An article called Another Rush to Judgement which was written before all the facts were even known about the flotilla cruise, but has an interesting view point of judgement calls.

2. This article refers to the latest ships incident in light of the political situation within Israel and general relations with the Arab world.

3. An excellent article called Those troublesome Jews , talking about types of passive/aggressive border defence methods.

4. An article with evidence brought by a French judge who was involved in the Turkish investigation AGAINST the ‘humanitarian’ IHH group, which is now Turkish PM Erdogan’s new pet/toy.

5. Now, just in order not to make this first post so utterly boring for the younger readers ;-) here is a collection of cartoons from recent days…

last boat with an irish captain, was not attacked because the captain told his tripulation to "sit and put hands up". They were clearly afraid of israel army.

The boat items were white a-4 paper for school and similar things. I saw this in spanish media, but video was recorded by.....israel army.

Anything to say about that? i mean, maybe you guys are suffering some propaganda too?

about the spanish who were on the previous attacked boat, they managed to take some pictures of dead people. Some of this dead people had a hole bullet on the bakc of his head, as an execution. Clearly this people were going to attack with his back head the gun of the army people. This things make me feel sick.

Are u sure israelian guys you are having a fair information? with no propaganda? when there is dead people this is a serious matter.

I also saw a manifestation in israel againt the attack to the flotilla, convoced by some israelian partys.

edit: about executions, foints are the pics, and daily guardian and el pais:

That's a lot of condemnation without a single reference or photos.
That's a lot of accusation with big words (some unclear; "tripulation"?) like execution without evidence.
...and still I might be the one suffering from propaganda. :)

But let me tell you something about Israeli propaganda... We hate and criticise ourselves more than any Palestinian ever would. Seriously. The level of criticism and condemnation here, inside Israel, against the government, its policies and actions, be it from the right or left sides of the political map is greater than any Turkish, Iranian or Spanish in this matter and other matters. There are no official government newspapers and the media here slaughters the government in every possible chance it gets. As we all do in a type of national sport.

The Irish Captain of the Rachel Corrie was not a crazy jihadist fundamentalist like about 100 people (of the 600) aboard the Marmara. The Irish Captain made his point in trying to break the blockade and was indeed a part of a group of activists rather than seeking to incite mayhem and simply provoke. Whether he was afraid or not is totally your own interpretation.

Regarding your claim of executions... p-l-e-a-s-e. We only kill people by pouring molten lead down their throats... there's no fun in a quick and effortless execution. and btw, unfortunately we only brutally murdered 9 people and not 16 or 20 as firstly reported. What a shame. I'd love to see those executed dead if possible. Pretty please.

A more serious debate required please.
:)

pictures of what happend to the soldiers on the boat

*they are not easy to watch

I now saw the link you added... these are not only third-hand accounts (one 'eye witness' reporting to another then another) but also a mis-interpretation of words.

Of course shots to the head rather than the thumbs.
After the paint guns and tear gas prooved inefficient against the... other side's weapons and the soldiers felt that their lives were under threat - about 10 minutes and serious beating up - they fired to save their lives. You do that by shot to the head! That's proper traing!

However, turning that into the word 'execution in the back of the head' is silly at best and you know that.

Anyone fancy playing a game of "Spot the troll"?
This is the 3rd topic we've had on this and it's getting boring, not least because it's just blatant provocation now. Someone close this please
2010-06-06 17:41:27
REALLY (big capitals?)... you must love that word 'nazi'... invokes something primeval inside does it?
However, when other cartoons showing Israeli soldiers with big Jewish noses were posted, I haven't heard a peep from you then...
2010-06-06 17:41:27
As always seeing you answer is fun.
How long it took you to answer ? which means you didnt really care what the one above you wrote.
Lets face it, it doesnt matter what I will say or what really happened.

Turkey media released photos of kidnapped soldiers.
Israeli soldiers got the OK to shoot with live bullets(remember those paint balls?) only after they kidnapped IDF soldiers .
When you kidnap a solider and take him below deck shooting you in the back of the head is fine by me.

² ( except it are pieces :p )

NOT AGAIN!!! I hope the belgian mod has to be more severe... guy you know people wont be polite on such topics, so why to try and argue for 5-10 minutes, than get the topic again closed?

last boat with an irish captain, was not attacked because the captain told his tripulation to "sit and put hands up". They were clearly afraid of israel army.

Again - There were six boats reached at the same time as the Turkish one and nobody was hurt the other boats, nobody !
You really do not know it's a fact and not propaganda ?

The boat items were white a-4 paper for school and similar things. I saw this in spanish media, but video was recorded by.....israel army.

Israel has announced unequivocally that all cargo will be accompanied by UN forces to Gaza after the weapons search.
Two days later, the cargo had been transferred to Gaza after a search.
Why take the provocative action if the goal was to move all supplies to Gaza?
2010-06-06 17:43:34
if u see the link, pictures exists, and el pais and the guardian support that comment, so maybe si not that quickly going to "i dont belive on it"?

Oppositte but the same, what proofs do u have about flotilla members attacking army men? same logic as u used with my link :)

Last picture you post, is showing hamas and the media at the same level, i just can say that anyone who belives that hamas and the european media are friends is someone who has been lied, sincerily.

Is nothing personal, just surprised of some interpretations u have in israel about that incident.

Another thing, what about attacking that boats on international waters?

And the last thing, totally rest of the world, not only arabic countries, has condemned the attacks.....dosent it make u think that maybe you are wrong? I mean, european countries are not friendly with hamas , but looking last picture you posted make me think

A more serious debate required please.

more serious debate mean: i belive anythin u said, i have been lied by propaganda of hamas ( who are friends of european media), i am stupit and i am sorry :D

Why Nin? Because the truth about the peaceful activists aboard the Maramara is starting to come out. Because Israel is slowly emerging from this, not as bad as one/you wanted? Because the original thread about "Israeli Terror" was deemed appropriately offensive yet this one is not?

You know what's in here, stay away if it bothers you.

well, after the attack, it seems a goodmovement. just remembering the items where paper for school and similar things, as far as some of u said it were full of weapons

LOL

Thats a good one :P

I agree with you those cartoons are boring and not really good. one of them looks exactly like the real picture so why use it?
