Yes, Idon't think Nederlands changed the way they played at all. The difference was on the opponent: to counter'attack you need to be attacked :P Costa Rica wouldn't do it, so Nederlands changed to assume the attacking role. We wouldn't do it either, but in this case Van Gaal also didn't want to risk as much as in the previous match, so he reverted to his "default" tactic for WC. The outcome was two teams trying to lure the other team out, and a match with scarce goal opportunities.
