How come that all of you Italians root for us btw? Is it because we (kind of) use your hallmark tactics this tournament?

I don't understand what proof you need...you can see on replays what Suarez did...

Wikipedia is useful here, borkos...
it'a classic...

let's see...

"a psychological defense mechanism postulated by Sigmund Freud, in which a person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence"

perfect...

but let's move on...

* "simple denial: deny the reality of the unpleasant fact altogether"
we've seen the sentences "if the fact is proven" and so on... like we've not seen it on tv... and with fakes photoshopped images...

* "minimisation: admit the fact but deny its seriousness (a combination of denial and rationalization)"
we've seen this too: "that is less than the kicks", "biting is part of football"... yeah...

* "projection: admit both the fact and seriousness but deny responsibility by blaming somebody or something else."
"it's the FIFA... it's a international conspiration of powerful forces against little innocent Uruguay"...

classic

Is not what I need.
If someone is accused of any crime he is innocent until the trial is over. In this case was the other way round, everybody want death by burning 10 seconds after the match finished.
Remember what I say, there will be more agressions in this WC and 0 punish.

You can read what I say... I won't reads yours.

this would be true "alltime"... what happens in this tournament is not an issue on this topic...

I think is a combination of different things:
* admiration for the past Nederland teams (from '70 on) who did not collect all they deserve
* similar for Nederland players who make history here (Van Basten, Gullit and so on...)
* the fact that Nederland has a positive image here

frankly I'm surprised about the numbers, but another poll on another newspaper got the same result... "almost half of the voters" is really high...

True. In this case, the trial is over: the sentence is 9 matches and 4 months.

In this case was the other way round, everybody want death by burning 10 seconds after the match finished.

What random people want is irrelevant. The only true trial is by FIFA, and FIFA ruled based on the evidence. It's not our fault if the evidence was publicly available and everyone could see it...

Are you trolling? Or are you actually being serious?

I hope for you it's the first option :p
Otherwise your mind is as twisted as that of Suarez, up to you to take this as an insult or as a compliment :D
2014-06-27 11:07:21
Suarez f***ed your country with his sick biting, you should be mad at this idiot and blame him, not some other guy, the FIFA, or whoever or whatever, only Suarez!!
2014-06-28 16:22:33
Lol, even Lugano is denying Suarez' stupidity :D What is wrong with them?

2014-06-28 16:33:54
And even Chiellini is saying the punishment was excessive.
2014-06-28 16:36:35
team spirit

It seems that for many soccer players this is a well known problem; the more talent in the foot, the less in the head :/

I was 19 years while playing a tournament on Brazil. A defender broke my knee a I had to quit football. I can barely play it with my sons. I wish he had bitten me instead.
2014-06-29 13:31:14
That's sad :(
2014-06-29 22:14:51
Indeed sad it happened.

But it is a lousy comparison :/ If some player injured another player that way with the only intention to break someones leg for example, this player would have had the same kind of punishment as Suarez or even much more, and if needed also based on tv evidence.
