1. Colombia
2. Ivory Coast
3. Greece
4. Japan

Really hard to predict and I'm quite sure none of the teams gets more than 6 points. Might very well be that my prediction is in reverse order. Close group and tight games for sure but these teams are not very interesting for me. Won't bet a single dime in the matches of this group. Maybe.. :)

I think Colombia's been having very bad luck this year in terms of injuries. But if they have most of their squad in proper health for the World Cup, they should have an easy way out of this group. They aren't worse than any of the other South American teams, except perhaps Brasil due to the home factor.

You may be right, Colombia is underrated. After all, they have Guarin, Quintero, Rodriguez, Cuadrado, Armero, Zuniga, Jackson Martinez, Falcao...not bad at all...

and also interesting young, talented players like Ramos, Muriel, Ibarbo

but on the other hand...Zapata and Yepes as central defenders? God, please be merciful to them:P
2014-05-28 13:45:42
Well, I only promised them to be as good as the rest of us, so you have to put it in perspective :P

Although their typical defense is Zúñiga, Perea, Yepes, Armero.

Even if it would be Ramos Pique Yepes Alaba, I would still consider their defence weak.

Any defence is as strong as its weakest link and Yepes is a VERY weak link :p.

and Zuniga, Armero...not really top form, not really top class in defending :p.

we will see how they play though, definitely an interesting side to follow. To be honest I nevert though of Colombia as having so many talents, I'm surprised.

I mean...I knew all their players [from Europe]...but never took time to think how many of them there are...:p

It's true that we don't have a defence as strong as our attack, but the coach has found a way to make it a solid defence. In the South American qualification, Colombia was the team with the fewest goals conceded, which is a good premonition of what might come.

All teams have equal chances .... believe Greece and Japan will qualify....going strong GREECE!!!!

Nice job Colombia, too bad you didn't go all the way, it could have easily been 6-0.
2014-06-14 21:18:01
With 4 shots on target for Colombia, how the hell should it have been 6-0? I know Greece didnt play good, but a 2-1 loss would have been more fair. We had some good chances to score at least a goal.
2014-06-14 21:27:44
LOL.

They were purposely slowing down the game although they undoubtedly were dominating.
They seemed happy with 1-0 so they shifted to a gear down, and still managed to score two more.

You had maybe one or two good chances, so yeah, with some luck you could have deserved a goal, but it was way too weak for a 2-1 loss.

Change your play style, you are getting old and you have some decent offensive players.

And that's realistic, not because you were in the same qualifying group with Bosnia.
