have I overlooked it? have not seen a thread commenting on the World Cup 2011.
GREAT games this past weekend.
Japan over Germany.
And of course USA over Brazil.
does anyone think the referee of the USA-Brazil match will be allowed to screw up another Cup match?

Japan versus USA.
I like our height advantage over Japan, however Japan is quick and agile- possession will be tough to maintain.
I like our height and Pace, and Keeper advantage.

(Japan made Sweden look VERY average. Of course they are missing there CB who went out with injury and also starter who had Red Card.

Where was that USA-Brazil match referee from? Not that one from Finland I hope..

Anyway.. Really liked those yesterday matches, much better stuff than for example those Copa America matches I've seen. That acting, diving and crying there.. just pathetic.. And some of those guys get way over 100k $ per week.. :/
Will be supporting Japan (sorry guys) in final but it's not the end of the world if(when) USA wins :)

no problem with you supporting Japan. (deep down I think the entire world is hoping that the Japanese success will somehow help smooth some of the sorrow Japan has had these last few months)

The Technical ability of the Japanese is phenomenal. However I think is the USA can score one goal, the match should be ours. Hope Solo should get a clean sheet against Japan.

I knew that Japan is much better team than in earlier world cups but didn't believe they have any chances to reach final, or even semifinals. Never even been in the second round before and they were without wins in all 25 matches against USA. And to be honest I'd say USA was better team this time too but.. You never know what will happen in penalties. Just look what happened to Brazil and Argentina too in penalties this weekend, biggest favorites to win the copa america..
Anyway.. Great tournament and congrats to Japan and USA :)

It's funny but I didn't really mind that we lost to Japan. If it was Brazil or China I'd be pissed for a week, but not this time.

With the style Japan played and the sportsmanship they showed, on top of what they represented to a country that's been through a lot, it was hard to root against them.
