Are you going to be living in the USA for a duration? Or just a week or so?

Just buy one of the phones where you pre-pay for the minutes. Cheaper that way, unless you are moving here.

I'm going to stay 'til 9 september.

Hello, my friends :) I'm asking for a bit of a help, if you can answer me a question.

I'll travel to US next week (New York), I'll stay for around 40 days, is my european driver license (obtained in Romania, of course) valid in NY?
I've read about the international driver's license, but that's pretty expensive to obtain it here (around 200$), as I won't drive too much. The romanian driver license alone is enough?:)

Thanks

You need to check to be sure with the american consulate in your country.

Some years back i could have drive with my italian license i believe as i rented cars with it, but now days i think they changed something as a friend of mine needed the international one.

It looks like you should be able to use your Romanian license but you may want to look into getting the International Drivers Permit as it provides translations for law enforcement.

It's not mandatory based on what I read but it might be a good idea since there's a good chance you'll get pulled over at some point considering that you're not familiar with all the signs and traffic customs over here. Having that document could save you the trouble of having to wait while some cop who can't read Romanian tries to figure out if you have a real license or not.

Looks like they cost about $15 US...

Hey guys..
How are u doing ??

I will be going to the US at the end of December.
Im gonna go to Las Vegas (+- 7 days) and then to LA (+- 4 days).

It would be nice (..not Blink 182 song hehe)
if u guys gave some tips and advices so i could better plan my trip.

I will arrive in LV at December 25th.
There i will stay at the MGM Grand.
I already bought my Cirque du Soleil 'O' ticket, David Copperfield show and a Grand Canyon chopper tour.
Im gonna pass the New Years Eve at Hakkasan Club (bought).

Its very likely that i go to LA at January 1st (hopping not to be on a hangover) (:
I dont have any plans to LA yet, but its highly probable that i visit some park such as Six Flags, and some Studio like Warner. Im thinking on renting a car to ride.. dont know yet.

So.. any suggestions??

PS: I dont have any english speech problems.. actually, last year i spent 2 weeks on the East Coast (Washington, Philadelphia, NY) in a college trip.

do not spend all your time on the Vegas strip. take a 15 minutes bus ride to 'downtown' Las Vegas to see the 'old' style of casinos. the bus service in Vegas is superb, crowded, but the wait is not that long.

also, get off the strip and go to Rio where every night they have 'Carnival' (forget the time).
Vegas is a wild, amazing, fantastic place.

For clubs in Vegas you have to go to XS, Surrender, Marquee. They're insane! I was there for the Mayweather vs. Canelo fight ;D If you do go, make sure to buy the tickets online as presales because the guys at the door are douchebags and all they want is money to put you in the front of the line >:( Have fun!

Thanks guys..
I appreciate!

make sure to buy the tickets online
my experience is that any of the "twofor" (two for one) or discount ticket places give you rear row seats. My wife and I bought some "two for One" tickets and both times we were in the back rows even though there were empty seats up closer. while the seats we had were not bad, it was annoying. Just know that if you decide to same money and buy 'discount' tickets.

@dennis54 - depends on when you get in line.... I got some excellent luck with some big time shows because I got in line fairly early in the day.
