Subject: Hockeyarena question

2009-04-17 19:40:17
Ok, I'm back with another HA question.

What do people think about the new tactics? I was in 9th place two seasons ago, didn't lose any starters, trained effectively, and finished in 13th place. The only difference I can see is that I tried to use the tactics. Additionally, I was chatting with someone from the top league, and he says he never ever uses any of the tactics because he thinks the old breakdown of stats that he uses, combined with the intuitive tactic, is better.

Thoughts?

He is correct if he has done nothing to improve the overall 'balance' of each of his players.

Until 'defensive tactics' are implemented, the offensive tactics seem to work quite well, PROVIDED you determine what tactics are best for YOUR players.

I'm using the intuitive tactics now, I started last season with some other tactics and results were mixed.

I use the new tactics and plan against my opponent, think it's effective.

New Question:

HOW COME I CAN'T GET ANY OF THE NT PEOPLE TO PUT ANY OF MY PLAYERS ON THE NT? I am being discriminated against - they tell me my players need more experience, but since the best way to get experience is to be on the damn NT, then I can't seem to win. I can't even get my Top 2 U-20 prospects on the team, and they are ridiculous.

Argh!

Experience yield experience ... I hate that aspect of any online sim.

In Beta .. a good prospect can make U20 with ZERO experience. .. just ask the Canadian U20 manager.

that ruined footstar too, the first set of players made the NT and have all the exp so even if i had better skills at a previous age, they have like 50 more NT caps and way better exp. and youve only got one shot in that game because youre controlling one player - yourself

i tried it for one login, it was confusing and scared me away

Hockeyarena is a solid economic and training simulation. The games are not interesting in and of themselves, but there is one every day. Training happens every day, too, and you can split up what you train someone in. QP is known there, so the transfer market is much less random.

I like it. Hate the experience issue, though.

I've finally decided to try this game.. Someone willing to mentor me?

1) I continue to be vexed that none of my top players get on NT squads, even though I've got two U-21 centers that should be considered and a 27 year old center that is ridiculously good, but doesn't get put on because his experience isn't good enough.

2) The real point of my post - Those U-21 studs above are basically about the same (95 ish Q and 75 ish P, and 20 years old). I put one on my fourth line, which plays every game, and the other does not play except in friendlies and an occasional no-brainer Cup. I've been doing this about a season. Drum Roll...

THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE - there has been no bump as far as I can tell from the 4th line guy playing a regular shift in league games.

Hey, I'm in 3rd place in III.1.

I'm just happy not to bounce right back down again.

Blades won't let you stay up there long .. LOL

No one has any comment about experience? I want to get my U-21's enough to be on the NT later on. And since I can't seem to get it by playing them in my league games because there isn't any extra experience gained, how do I do it?

Could one of you blackmail whoever is the U-21 coach for the US to add my guys? They are silly good QP, and are quite good already.

I've had several players on the u21 team. What i've done is play them in every game from the very first day. Playing them on the power play or penalty kill will get them more exp.
