Subject: NT World Cup Run Updates..

Before you think the forum is dead.. I know!

But our NT isn't... !! So why not share our (soon to be) miracle run for world cup glory!
& Morpheus feel free to share some updates on your impressive run with our U21 boys. & Good Luck!!

Ok.. So as the new head coach of a squad that has a souring PM skill set, we had a rocky opener against Al Maghrib.. but Luckily edged them out for a 2-1 win and a 'free' lesson for this new coach! We have some holes on Defense that will have to be shored up, along with many tactical adjustments for next week as Hellas, the top rated team in our group comes to town. We'll be ready for one hell of a fight... & I think we will catch them off guard and pull some points from the match. I'm thinking an old west shoot out... An American specialty!

Ok.... We Lost 6-0... But don't let that be discouraging.. If we had a rematch tonight it would be a 1 or 2 goal game, and I think we could beat these geeks! I look forward to the rematch.. Even though they were clearly the better team today.

Quick explanation for the loss.. The first 3 goals where due to a rookie coaching mistake. I implemented a tactic that was way to aggressive this early in the match(& bracket) and should have been reserved for a hail mary comeback in the fourth quarter. The mid portion of the game was rather even, giving the geeks a one goal advantage.. then they scored a couple late goals, (85th & 90th minute.) Both things the defense can shore up for the next match. On the other side of the pitch we had some open field and some opportunities, but couldn't quite get the shots off in time. We'll have to re approach the issue of getting more balls on net in the rematch. Looking forward to it!

We have a friendly with Poland next week to continue to get to know the team and work on our tactics!

I think we'll end up second in the table and move on. Believe that !!

There is a huge difference between Hellas and USA; this difference saw on average mark: 82.4 on Hellas and 71.1 on USA. From this point of view USA - Hellas 0:6 is not so bad.

BUT ... did you saw that Frederick Gay and Donny Abrams play on defend place and they are striker? That is not admissible at this level (on World Cup). I think you must to be more careful in the future. My advice (i will hope that you not upset) is to play in the future with 4 or 5 defenders "in line".

There were two tactics Morpheus.. The first was 3 att's with Gay... Then we withdrew into a different formation. Should have swapped the tactics. If you don't watch the full game.. careful on those assumptions!

And GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR RUN !!

Did you know that the first 11 players on USA U21 are form with:
- 7 players with 20 years old;
- 4 players with 21 years old.
So, in that World Cup, USA U21 has minimum chance to win a match. That dosen't mean I will not try to win. It will very very hard.

Our National team scored another win against Costa Rica this weekend. Nothing to be overjoyed about, but a solid performance for a team that's currently plagued with injuries.. Leaving us securely in second with Al-Jazair next week.. Following that is our two game shoot out with Benson and Hedges.. That's the big one between us and WC glory ;)

Quick update explaining our disappointing results in qualifying for the WC...

REASON we lost...…… The coach! and the hectic holiday madness..

I totally dropped the ball over the holidays, a three week period that determined our success or failure. I just couldn't get online to create the tactics that we needed to prevail. So I do apologize to our great sokker nation.

I will not be making another effort at NT coach. I considered U21, as I do believe the tactical advantage can be better utilized in those match ups.. But I think it's best to give Morpheus another run after qualifying for this past WC.

So I'll just be busting heads in the Majors.. And looking forward to it!
