For the last time this season we played with the U21 squad. We played a fantastic match and won against higher ranked Estonia U21 4:2. We were very effective in attack and deserved to win. Next week we will be back in the game with the U20 squad, because we are starting the Copa America U20 tournament. Our first rival will be Paraguay U20.

The 14th edition of the Copa América U20 tournament starts today. We will start this tournament with a match against Paraguay U20. The lineup for the match is already set. It will be a very important match. So far we have participated in 9 editions. We reached the Final once, the quarter-final once, the round of 16 twice, and the group stage five times.

In the first match of the Copa America U20 tournament we won 2:0 against Paraguay. We had more chances to score goals and we took two. We won deservedly. In the second match of our group, Venezuela defeated Honduras 3:0. Our opponent next week will be Honduras. If we win, we'll get to the quarter-finals!

Yesterday we won after extra time against Honduras U20 3:1. Our opponent in the match against us strengthened the defense. We were the first to score a goal, but after a while, after a mistake by the left defender, the opponents led to a draw. We had a huge advantage, we dominated, but our attackers missed. In the 70' we changed the tactics as well as the midfielder and striker and those were good changes. In extra time, we dominated the opponent. Ironside had two assists and Rice scored his first goal for the USA NT. In the second match, Venezuela defeated Paraguay 2:0. We are second in the table Group B. Next week we will play the leader of our group Venezuela, which has not conceded a goal in this tournament yet.

This match was bittersweet. We lost but advanced to the quarter-finals. Venezuela was the stronger team, it is one of the favorites of the tournament. We played a 4-3-1-2 formation with a central midfielder until the 70th minute. In the last 20 minutes we played a 4-2-2-2 with the left winger. Throughout the match we had chances to score, but our forwards were not as effective as the Venezuelan strikers. We will play against Argentina in the quarter-finals. Argentina won group C. We will not be favourites, we need a lot of luck.

Our young players surprised us! We beat one of the tournament favorites Argentina 1:0! The only goal was scored by Joseph Loughlin in the 15th ' of the game. We played very well defensively. For 90 minutes, we played a 5-3-2 tactic specially designed for the match against Argentina. I'm happy with this win, we advanced to the semi-finals of the Copa America! On Saturday we will play against Cuba U20. We feel respect because we know that Kuba is the third team of this year's World Cup.
Elections for national coaches started this week. I would like to continue my work for USA U21.

It was a very good match. The opponent had a big advantage in average marks, but they only had 8 shots. We played a 5-3-2 tactic in the first half with central midfielders. We were losing 0:1, so in the second half we played with a left winger. In the last minute our opponent scored a goal for 2:0. Cuba proved that they are the favorite of the tournament. On Saturday, we will play in the match for 3rd place against Mexico U21. Of course, Mexico will be the favorite, but we have beaten the better team more than once.

It was the most unlucky match of the season. In Friday's cup game, our best goalkeeper Wyatt Cheatham suffered an injury and was replaced by the debuting 20-year-old Gary Hasselhoff. Unfortunately, he will not count his debut as a success. All the opponent's target shots ended in a goal. With two goals our goalkeeper was at fault. By half time we were losing 0:3. In the second half we changed tactics to a more offensive one. We had more shots than our opponent, but our strikers were very ineffective in attack. We had as many as 4 one-on-one situations and none of them ended in a goal. The result of the match did not change until the end. Unfortunately, despite our advantage in ball possession and shots, we lost.
We finished the tournament in 4th place. This is a big success for us. We were better than such powers as Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia and Peru. This result is the second best we have ever achieved in the Copa America. Only once did we achieve a better result (in the 4th edition - 2nd place).
