Hey guys!
I decided to open a new topic so you won't need to go through the old one to get to the new posts.
So, first of all, to sum up this seasons achievements (what I promised and what I actually achieved).We can split the season in two -
1) The World Cup - I think we played pretty solid there.Before it I didn't expect we will even get a point but we were in the fight until the very last minutes.We managed to beat Romania, who were still the actual WC winner and then the random screwed us up against Bulgaria where we lost despite outplaying them.
2) Friendlies - after the WC ended for us we played some friendly games where our goal was to improve our ranking and get back to the top 32 (like I promised before last season's elections).We finally managed to reach that goal and we're now sitting at 32 position in the ranking.
About next season, thing look pretty complicated.Although we are going to be in second pot for the draw thanks to our ranking we will still need a bit of luck in the draw because there are some better team that are behind us in the ranking (which means in third pot so they are possible opponents).Our team is beginning to suffer a lot from missing players as we don't have too much variability in both defense and midfield.Our keepers are also one of the weakest NT keepers - most of the smallest countries have better ones which might turn out to be a big problem for us.Still, our attackers are quite nice, I'm really happy with the choice I have there and that keeps me confident that we'll manage to qualify again for the WC but that's something I can not promise before the draw (which is this Saturday btw).
Oh, I guess I was also supposed to say why should you vote for me ... but I think after I spent 2 seasons as coach of the NT you already know my strengths and weaknesses so you can judge by yourselves whether I'm the best option available, I'm not going to go on and explain how great and bla bla I am.On the other hand, I can offer free online beer if you wish?

The draw for the WCQ is ready.Here is our group:
1. Schweiz
2. USA
3. Hellas
4. Paraguay
5. Hayastan
6. Daehan Minguk
On first sight I think the group is not bad and by that I mean that at least there in clear favorite for the second place.
Switzerland are sitting at 13-th place in the ranking and are capable of reaching average marks over 80 which will prove to be enough to win the group in my opinion.
Greece are another story - their team is quite similar to ours.During the last WCQ we played twice with Greece during the gaps in the program and we managed to get two wins but they were pretty narrow both times (1:0 and 3:2).I think random or luck (call it as you wish) will decide the winner in those matches, especially if they keep their current coach.
Paraguay are also a pretty strong team, I definitely would have liked another opponent from 4-th pot.I guess they will also try to use this favorable draw and snatch the second place but I hope we won't let them do that.Their average mark is somewhere around ours though so I guess we should definitely watch out for them.
Armenia are another pretty tough opponent, especially when having in mind that they come from 5-th pot.Their average mark reaches over 70 so they are also capable of making quite big surprises.
And the last team is Korea which I hope we can defeat heavily in order to improve our goal difference.
So, to sum up in a few words, I think that there is not clear favorite for the second place and 3 teams will be fighting for that spot or even maybe 4 if Armenia get a little push from the random.I think it's going to be a quite interesting campaign which will be unpredictable until the very end.I can't promise you guys that I'll qualify the team but I think we have our chances to do so.
