Subject: WORLD CUP 2018 (LİVE İT UP)

Two years ago, France played some nice football and lost the final. In ten years, noone remembers the runner-up, they will remember Portugal winning the Euro. Now they wont the WC, boring or not, in ten years noone cares, all they'll know is that France won it in '18. Ohh, and everyone played a boring football at this WC, everyone.

You didn't watched Belgium, did you? DID YOU??? :-p

For me, it's more the fact that there's too much money in circulation in the football market.

I remember watching the 1996 Intercontinental Cup, Juventus was playing River Plate and they said the MVP of the game will receive a brand new Toyota, or Mazda, whatever, i think they played in Japan. And i was like, wow, now that's something, to get a new car for playing well in a single game. Juve won 1-0, DelPiero man of the match, got a brand new car, amazing.

And now, an average player in PL can buy a new supercar every week :))

I was expecting so much more from Belgium, i was 100% convinced you guys will win this one.

The only explanation is that everyone was dead-tired after a long season. Playing 2-3 games per week takes a toll.

BTW, in 4 years in Qatar, the WC will be in December. Whats it gonna be with the CL, and other competitions?

We are 3th and lost 1 game 1-0 against a park the bus team...and in the end the WC. (Water Closet :-p)
We scored 16 goals in total, conceded 6, 10 different players have scored for Belgium and we had a very offensive and attractive style of football with lots of very nice combinations and some world class goals and we never had to play extra time...
And we also hoped we'd won, but a bit of bad luck and a collective off day decided otherwise...
And not to forget the absence of Meunier against france was a real pain in the... for us.
We were the only team that made a 2-0 loss into a 2-3 victory. Not one team conceded 2 goals and after them were still able to win the match! We ARE the team of the most impressive statistics this championship... But we don't got the reward we'd liked... Such is life. Living up the expectations and not being able to make them pay is always sour, but setting your goals straith and not aim too high is also a skill... Your expectations were realistic but not absolute. And then the agony is biting in your response... 2020... who knows ;-)

Okay.. guess Belgium played the most beautiful style, but we cannot blame France style. They had the best players and they were never threatened to lose a single match in the entire cup, not even against Belgium. We can discuss its style, it's not beautiful, but they have decisive players and they do control every match. They adapt their style according to the opponent.

About belgium.. i agree with the most you said, but we have to evaluate the same against every team.

Stats Belgium against Brazil:

Total shots: Brazil 27 x 9 Belgium
goal shots: brazil 9 x 3 Belgium
% Possession: brazil 59 x 41 Belgium
Total passing: brazil 520 x 376 belgium
total crossing: brazil 24 x 6 belgium

Stats don't mean that much, brazilian stats against belgium were even more impressive than belgium's against france.. and i still believe belgium deserved to defeat brazil as well as france deserved to defeat belgium and win the WC.

Again, if we played the 2nd half like we did the first one, those stats would be even more impressive... For Belgium!
And france didn't had the best players, only the most effective tactic...

Belgium's stats against France were not impressive, rather vice versa. Belgium played a nice tournament with exciting matches, but they lacked defensive stability and got completely shut down by France.

I remember watching the 1996 Intercontinental Cup

Yes... all that were played on Japan. The Toyota used to be given to the 1st player to score but they changed that the last years of the competition.

2018-07-20 12:26:51

2018-07-20 20:19:38
