But for the wrong reasons. We could also introduce the restriction that at least 5 players should have an odd number for age. It would be even harder, and also absolute nonsense.
The playing-training link reduces a lot the tactical freedom - something you quickly realize when coaching a NT or playing arcade matches, where training doesn't get in the way.

I have some suggestions to make a new game, not a "sokker 2". It should be harder to get a player with lots of 17 levels in players level.

That would only make sense if you could get players to do reasonable things far away from the maximum skill level. Not enough "17s" in Sokker teams would make every match look like it's third division.
I guess what I mean is that whether players reach the top or not is not so important as how do players actually behave inside the pitch for a given combination of skills.

that's the challenge..

To make players more special, use BMI. This BMI can be used; better trained players are more fit and preform better.

Another idea is to radomly give players special abilities:

longer players can have 5% better header skills (abilities: header)
shorter players can have 5% better pace skill (abilities: runner)

Longer keepers can have 5% better GK
Shorter keepers can have 5% better pace

Accurate players can have 5% better PM (abilities: passer / free kicker)

longer players with higher BMI can have 5% better defender skill -- (abilities: central DEF or DEF-MID)
Shorter players with lower BMI can have 5% better pace skill --- (abilities: wing DEF or wing MID)

The more freedom on tactics is what I think that is important to the game.

This way we could have teams with personality.

Talking about levels, if the level of players get down in every player, at first seem like 3rd division, but with the time people get used to it. But i think that the levels should go beyond actual 17. But it's just my opinion.

when you SHOULD set a young to play in order to get him trained you must make a choice.

the youngster is weaker than an older player (and often cost more), so you choose between an investment and a result now.

That's the challenge.
In all those game where there's not a link between training and matches I've realized that the trining of youngster are simply farming.
And this is not funny (and challenging) at all (IMHO).

Fielding a young player has nothing to do with tactics. Fielding a young player on a useless Wednesday friendly implies no trade-off at all.
Having to field a DEF, or an ATT, or whatever, does mess with tactical freedom.

In all those game where there's not a link between training and matches I've realized that the trining of youngster are simply farming.

Actually, it worked pretty well in UM, where youngsters would gradually join official matches as they became more useful, and never waiting too much so they acquire experience. You could manage squads realistically, with a balance between starters, subs, and youngsters, were salaries, not training, was the main trade-off keeping that balance under control. It fell much more like football.
Sadly, the ME was garbage and the number of users never took off, so the market was nonexistent. But the training part was solved :P
2016-05-30 23:20:24
the market was non existent BECAUSE OF the fact anybody could train everything without limitations..

for the rest: personal preferences, but I can't see any success online sport manager game without that link, and UM is a perfect example!

Another suggestion, make something about the NT.

Maybe the NT 's should have a very very good medical department. So good that the player never get hurt when play for them.

Or, at least, make the fact of your player playing in NT an advantage instead of happens today. Doesn't mean that isn't a vantage in some parts, but a lot of people doesn't like her players in NT.

The limitation will be the talent. The market will be alive cause we can't train all players if they aren't talented.
2016-06-01 17:38:28
and.. who's going to sell a talented player? why should he?
2016-06-01 18:49:20
I thought is scout system, were we can find a certain type of player if he's in transfer market or not.

This way you can make an offer, that can be accepted or not. This should be an official offer, valid for a specific time, like 3 days.

It's just an idea, but I guess to this training system works, we should find a way were talented players was very desirable. This will make other players offer lots of money to buy them.

In sokker people sells talented player cause they haven't slots to train them, in this case would have another way to create a necessary to sell or a bog desire to buy.

Such training system exists in football strategy. The effect is that you don't need transfers - you train your whole team, from youth academy. And there is no reason to sell talented players, since you can always train them,
2016-06-03 13:38:56
But you can have 4 talented striker and no talented defender. Then you need to trade (maybe less than in Sokker, but is that really a bad thing?). Then there is the salary part: you cannot keep your 5th talented striker to be the sub of the sub while paying him star wages. In fact, ideally you should not be able to keep too many good players if you don't achieve some sport success or otherwise manage to have high income (it is important for winning to be a major source of money in any case). This is how UM manage to keep it under control, and it worked quite well (no, the market wasn't small because everyone kept training its own players, but because there were so few teams that there was barely anyone to trade with).

I mean, there's nothing wrong with Barça keeping Xavi, Iniesta, Messi forever. But if you have Xavi and Cesc and Iniesta, and then Thiago comes along, maybe you cannot keep him as well and you end up selling him and bringing Suárez or Bravo or whatever you are missing. And if you are Sevilla you sell Rakitic whether you have better or not because you just can't compete in salaries. I think that's the only mechanism we need to have, otherwise the focus shifts too much to eBay and away from football :P
