Subject: SOKKER REVOLUTION! JOIN THE MOVEMENT & SIGN UP

2016-04-05 16:52:44
Kongbuur,

- It is interesting that you accuse this movement to make other users leave this game, we never encouraged it, and we have no game either yet to make anyone leave even if it would be our evil plan!! If they leave one day, its going to be their choice (most of them are over 30), and its not going to be because of our game.. There is a lot of games out there, and people leave Sokker today for hole a lot of other issues that have been known for years.

- Its also interesting that you mention this campaign having a negative effect. That mentioning its death would make users leave. Those discussions have been around for a while now, i guess that you don't read the forums. You would be amazed!
We don't see it in a negative way, we started the campaign this early to see if we will get any reaction from the owners. Starting at least a discussion was a goal. We together would be able to affect their decisions. Maybe they would improve Sokker, in that case we could contribute to that and not making another game for the community. But they don't really care, actually, you care more! Sorry but its kind of sad!

Yeah sure, playing the game with 10 people left in every country would still be fun, but the transfer market would be empty, the total cash flow would suck, the youth development would be slow and so on..the game would be unbalanced in so many ways. This is a community based game, its 50% of the game. You may not like it, and only enjoy the pixels and the numbers behind the screen.

- Reading your post, i notice that you wouldn't care if Sokker would die, and as i wrote before, this is nothing for you anyway. I don't understand your negativity like others here. You don't add anything useful to the subject. Then i would suggest that you stop spamming in our (according to you) spam theard. Cause you are contributing to the spamming of ours.

So i quote Bluezero, as he wrote to you
"My advice: If you have some ideas how to make devs continue work on sokker.org, here with it. If you have ideas how to make ila-a's version better, here with it. Otherwise your posts are just spam."

Malmo vs Copenaghen?
:D

@Kongbuur
I'm not 100% convinced on the project but I like the idea.

He can sell data of registered users? Well it's not my job and I don't know if one/twoten thousand element of those data may worth something.

He can do a startup project with crow-funding based on that supporter list, maybe, someone may want to be part of the game to have fun.

He could do a new game or pay an offshore to do it.

He could do business and become rich, maybe. Or maybe this thread will simply move Greg to do something more?

Well, I don't know the answers but every "try to stay alive scenario" could be better than death..

So, IMHO, why not?

We have so many trolls here in Scandinavia, actually famous for it, and you seem to be one of them Kongbuur, or just butthurt that we got more response for this campaign that you wanted. How can we convince people for leaving this game when we don't have a game yet? Why are you so nervous? Are you paranoid? Easy buddy!

I just find your posts fun to read, this is my last response to you since you continue to accuse me for not caring about Sokker.

Kongbuur:
"He has a blog now, that's fine. He may or may not make a good game, that's fine. I wish him luck, I really do. But talking about "solution", "revolution", "vision", "motivation", "dedication" and love for the game (this game(!) and the community, it's just a load of bullshit. He does not care about Sokker. He wants users to code, test, finance and then pay to play that game. "Based on sokker", yeah right. I guess it will be a football game with a match engine, a junior school, some trainers, a stadium and so on. You know, a football manager game. That's similar. But if the problem is that users are leaving, how on earth is it a "solution" to make more quit? And for every user he manages to take with him, he has been damaging this game, which I am not leaving. "Join the movement" - pull my finger!"

Back in 2008 i combined: motivation, dedication, solution, and vision to create a new design concept for Sokker design contest when admins asked the users for contributing on their free time. You can look at it here, a site that i created for sokker fans:
http://sokker.onsugar.com

In the site, you can see the beginners guide that Robnob made, and i some years later helped to remake for new users:
http://sokker.onsugar.com/page/5496

In the same site, you can see a lot of logos that i made on my free time for the community.

I made a new design concept last year and wrote clearly that anyone who are interested to develop it can take it, even the sokker owners could take it to use it as inspiration.

Through the years i have always supported my swedish community, and tried to stay active.

Why do you write that i don't care about Sokker? did i talk about your interest for Sokker? i even wrote that i was happy to see that you so loyal, we all have been after this years.
I don't need to show more to prove that i have been fan of this game for a long time, probably i have been putting in more hours from my free time trying to contribute to its development than you.

So who are you to claim that i don't care? I don't even want to ask what you have done for this game based on your latest, that has been full of words, but empty of content.

Please, don't ever visit this thread again, consider it as spam!

And since the devs don't care about it, i will launch the blog. But you also gave me the motivation to continue posting updates here in the sokker forums, thank you for that!

Btw, i played hattrick for 4 years until i found Sokker, i liked the tactic engine here and the youth. Our game is going to be inspired by sokker, if you want to accept it or not, it really don't changes anything!

imann,

We are not going to sell any data to anyone!

We may do a crowd-funding campaign yes, but maybe not if we manage to gather a team able to work beside their regular jobs.

The final outcome will be very interesting, but its clear that a discussion has started, that is better than when something dies in silence and no one cares. The devs should've have noticed this campaign. And there always going to be people against, some don't care, and some don't understad.

he spams sokker forum to convince people to quit sokker

this is false.
2016-04-05 20:06:45
I... but... I... no! This is impossible! You are not listening to sense anyway. And you just called me a troll. YOU!. Lol.

I will not waste a second more of my time on you. And since you just said the same to me, I guess this 'conversation' is over.

To the rest of the guys out there: Hang in there! The game is not dead. We are not playing it to see what the next change will be, but because it is fun like it is, with all its flaws and editowany-features.

"he spams sokker forum to convince people to quit sokker"
this is false.

No, but it is wrong.

Sokker isn't dead, but alive and kicking is something completely different unfortunately. And this is not because of the active managers who did all they could to make something of Sokker (for free!), but because of the DEVs who gave up seasons ago.

I most probably will keep playing Sokker untill someone (greg) pulls the plug, and before that happens I hope there will be a Sokker 2.0 that will play also by then.

Im just playing this game because of the forums and most of the guys i know do the same. The game itself has been dead for years now. Only some enthusiasts who mostly play to train players for their nation and defend the nations honor. Only active day is the new juniors day. The clubscene in this game is non-existant, someone wins nation championship or cup and 2 weeks later another single user sends his congratulations, junior games are dead, betting section is dead, noone cares about making new tactics anymore, arcade games were fun for 2 weeks and now dead. Best part of the game used to be 3D live matches and discussions about matches later on, nowadays maybe nations game is watched by some guys(good if at least the coach watches) and maybe qualification match at the end of season. My question is what in this game is not dead besides forums? Or maybe its completely different in Denmark then.

that ^^

"My question is what in this game is not dead besides forums"

It's the Pacman argument again. On one hand you can say: nothing has happened in 4 years - but on the other hand you can say: this game is just as good as it was 4 years ago. (And then some dude shows up and call you negative... :))

I too wish they would develop some things and I would of course support ali-i if he was allowed to use his holy coding skills to help develop Sokker. But he is not allowed to. So he cannot help. It's that simple.

He can go somewhere else, code something else - and you can join him. But that's not really helping sokker either, is it?

Also, I have a team i Hattrick, since 2003. I used to love it, but now I'm only there for forums and nostalgia. It sounds like you are hitting that same spot, where it doesn't really matter anymore. That is not caused by the game. It's natural. It's game over time. OR time to make the action yourself by setting some crazy goal like an all-estonian team, an amazing 3-3-4 formation that noone ever tried before or whatever. You have to admit, that even though there are no news, the game is just as good as it was 2-3-4 years ago. You just got bored. It will happen i ila-a's game too.
2016-04-05 21:28:23
The thing is that the new game will be even MORE dead. Believe me.

Take football-strategy. Very nice game, great match engine [visually], active DEVs etc. Do people play it? No, they don't. There are 536 users there after 2 or 3 years. Some time ago POLAND got WEEKLY 500+ new users. You get the idea?

People don't want football managers like sokker anymore. The oldies don't have time/passion to start from zero, new players want different games. So it doesn't matter what il-a will create, he will have an even more dead game than sokker. So basically what he is proposing is giving people from sokker a different forum. That's all. And you don't need a game for that.

And since I'm already expressing myself...

a. it will be a NEW game.

It won't be sokker. You can copy the generals, like training combined with playing, youthschool, tactic screen. Many games did that already. But you won't copy the specifics. The way the match engine works, the talent info etc.

And most of all, you won't copy the history and the time we all already spent here. That's what keeps us here - forum and time spent on our teams. New game, new team - don't care.

b. it will be dead, as I've already mentioned, so what's the point in playing. You can join another dead game or just keep on playing sokker, since it still has 10k+ active users. The new game won't reach 1k of stable users. All new projects that try - fail. And if FS failed, then this project will fail as well.

c. I don't like the idea of this project, but it's my personal no-no.

From what I see we have Il-a. What he is proposing is that he will be the idea-man, taking the money for and then from the project.

But the actual work of coding will be done by volunteers from sokker.

I mean...it is ridiculous, right?
2016-04-05 21:42:59
that ^^
2016-04-05 21:59:57
Nice post. Unfortunately, people will come along shortly, calling you a paranoid, butthurt troll and telling you to stay away from this thread as you're just spamming.
2016-04-05 22:45:22
paranoid troll heheh

EDIT: Oh, and stay away from this topic ... I forgot that part.
