Maybe I'll give it a try, thanks!

Ocelot: So how does the game work as there are so few users? Are there bot teams or what?

highandmighty explained it well. I would like to add that the bot teams in this game are challenging, so dont get too confident when playing against a bot. ;)

Yeah tell me about it. Especially in the beginning when you have no clue at all about the workings of the ME, you'll lose quite often. Now that I understand the ME a bit better and have developed my club most bots are beatable but the occasional draw or loss does creep in. :)

I'll give the game a chance

the desing is not very intuitive at first...but finally I know how I can set up training and I like it

couple of questions:

1. how many coaches, assistants etc. do I need?
2. do players train better if the play in matches?
3. if I have a very talented 18yo, should I keep him in under 19 or promote to first team?

Ok, Ill answer according to my personal opinion and views. Some other managers might have a different opinion.

1. how many coaches, assistants etc. do I need?

First off let me post here the types of workers (coaches, etc) you can hire in your headquarters:

Assistant Manager: You can assign only one to your club. His main duty is to help with training and has the most impact for your main squad.

Coach: You can have three coaches per squad. They improve your training results.

U19 Assistant Manager: You can assign only one to your club. He is tasked with training your youth academy and has the most impact for your youth squad.

U19 Coach: You can have up to three U19 coaches. They improve your youth squad and youth academy training results.

Scout: You can assign up to four scouts. Their job is to scout for talented youngsters around the world for you to sign allowing better prospects into your youth academy.

Physio: You can assign up to four physios’s. They help injured players recover faster, and help prevent injuries from happening.

Marketer: You can assign up to four marketers. Responsible of your sponsor contracts, and helps with attracting visitors to games by suggesting a short range of match ticket and associate prices.

As you can see, the ASSISTANT MANAGER is the main worker when it comes to training, and the COACHES (you can hire up to three) are the ones who support the ASSISTANT MANAGER. This is also the case for the U19 team. So you have Grade C (less efective training but more cheap), Grade B (mid ground) and Grade A (more effective training but more expensive). At the beginning it is better to start with Grade C, eventually as you advance to higher divisions and get better income you can upgrade to Grade B, etc. So right now at the beginning, it is better if you hide only Grade C.

The scouts (you can also hire up to three) is only necessary if you are going open your youth academy (which works very similar to sokker). But in the first season I personally dont recommend to open it (some other managers may disagree with me on this). Improve your team first and advance to higher divisions and then when you think you can afford to spend more, then start investing on the youth academy, which is expensive.

So, in my personal recomendation, hide one assitant manager grade C, hire a u19 assistant manager grade C, also hire one coach C for the main squad and another one for the u19 team. Hire second coaches for each team only when your finances are better. You can also hire a grade C marketer and physio grade C to start.

Detailed info about this can be found on section #5 of the rules (headquarters).

2. do players train better if the play in matches?

Let me see how I can answer this without getting too confussing. All players train everyday (except in matchdays). BUT, those who play in those matchdays get a bit more of training points during that day. But you also have to remember that those who play had to rest the day before.

Let me give you an example:
My starting 11 and my 7 players on the bench on my main tactic, I set them to rest the day before each match they have been assigned to (this can be done automatically in the training page). So, these 18 players who play on Sundays, they use Saturdays to rest (to get their form up to be in optimal form to play). So these 18 players didnt train on Saturdays (but the rest of the players on the team do train that day). Then on Sunday, the 11 players who played (and those who entered as substitutes) do get extra training points. While the ones who didnt play this Sunday didnt train.

Was this paragraph understood?, if not, I can try to explain myself better again.

3. if I have a very talented 18yo, should I keep him in under 19 or promote to first team?

Depends on your assistant managers and coaches. When I have a super 15 years old youth player, I move it to the main squad because currently my best trainers are in the main squad. But in the following seasons, as I get more rich and more income, I will try to make both my main squad trainers and my u19 squad trainers (assistant managers and coaches) equally good (grade A all of them), but this is VERY expensive and will be done when I get uber rich, which will take a lot of seasons hehe. So to answer your question, it depends if you have better trainers in the main squad or in the u19 squad. Some managers have better trainers in the u19 squad, so it all depends on what you do and decide.

Thanks a lot, I understood everything! :)

my only problem now is that I have too many assitants/scouts/coaches...because I can't sack them :/ I had no idea that there is a sacking limit for players and staff...

Congrats! :D

A new season has began, and we all have objetives we would like to achieve during the season.

My personal objectives to be achieved for this season are:
For the Main Squad:
Win the First Division for the second time.
Win the National Cup for the second time.
Reach the 4th round of the FS Cup.
For the U19 Squad:
Win my Division and promote to the U19 First Division.
Win the U19 National Cup for the first time.
Reach the 4th round of the U19 FS Cup.

Which are your objectives?

I hope that I will still be playing after this season. :-P

I promoted to higher league with both teams, now I have some user-teams so I have no idea what results I can expect. My main objective is to train players.

I would like to achieve the double again with my senior squad.
My U19 just promoted to first division and is still somewhat weak. Top 4 would be great.

FS cup is a big question mark for me and my team. Assuming to go ahead a few rounds, but very much depending on the draw off course.

FS not in bad, Borkos!

I think that can be in a best games in next year!

I'm giving it a chance:)

I started the youth school. What kind of players should I keep? At the moment: [age, level of skills, training points]:

15, 7.20, 72.39
16, 6.53, 66.39
15, 7.07, 75,90
15, 7.07, 72.39

are they any good?

Youth Academy is too expensive. I would recommend you wait 1 or 2 seasons before opening it. It will just eat your finances this early. :(
