When you cross the border between the Netherlands and Belgium in a car, you can literally hear the difference. From a smooth driving sound to ta-ta-ta-ta, because of the (small) spaces between Belgium road slabs.

A Dutch guy living in Brussels is planting flowers in potholes as a protest against the poor road quality. And it helps, some potholes are repaired.

I had guests from netherland, don't remember the names, dude told me he and his gf travel to work everyday (she works in a bank, I think he was chef, not sure), anyway, they travel every day about 120km to work and again back :O

240km every frickin' day maaaaaan

(why is this relevant? because he said the quality of the roads are awesome :)
