Subject: How to get started with Sokker tutorial

2012-02-26 23:17:38
Ah alright, that's a problem ... I will look into it to see if I can fix that.

EDIT: do you have the same problem with opening the links of players?

Parameters added below trainer links :)

I think this tutorial is useful for new managers.
Yes 62% (50)
No 20% (16)
Just want to vote .. 19% (15)

About 2/3 think it's useful :) And I wonder how many managers of those '16 No' have ever tried to make something better, or made something at all ... ;)

Then why do you give us a survey !? if it is only to flatter your pride

No, I was just wondering :) And only 2 options 'yes' and 1 option 'just want to vote' would be a bit strange :P

But next time I make something like this I will make a poll with more options such as:
Yes
No, but I never took the time to make a tutorial so everything is better as what I made
No, but I can't do it any better and/or I can't post any better ideas
No, because: ....
Just want to vote

;)

EDIT: and I'm happy with 2/3. It's not made for me but new managers so hopefully those voters will use it in their newbie forums to help new managers.

i was just joking ;-)

Actually, when you create such poll you obligatory have some people who answer the opposite answered wanted... Thus, these types of polls are useless and morever because any tutorial is obvisouly good for beginners (and others too). ;-)

Your welcome :)

Good to see it's being used in another forum, I'm glad about that. I hope new Estonian managers are helped with this tutorial.

I'm thinking about making a second tutorial, to help managers become more advanced in Sokker, that can be used after this first tutorial. In that tutorial subjects as these will be included: how to make trainingprograms for several seasons with the right head coaches to get a good team and make more profits, some better assistants, even better trainees, how to start an effective junior school and which juniors to keep or reject etc. Already put some links together in a document:

First set-up second tutorial (link)

Sounds good, looking forward to it.

I think the first set-up is already useable, but needs some more tinkering before I post it on the forum :)

Maybe they don't need to as they finally understand it all ;) I did get some questions, but in my sk inbox.

And I don't know if this tutorial is posted in more then the 5 countries I know of, but maybe those national topics are used for the questions and not this 1 (also this topic is pushed down by some other useless topics in this forum so it's harder to find that way).

Make this topic sticky?

Could be a good idea, but I think that won't happen as greg don't want others to explain to new managers what exactly to do by giving them skills and links etc, like this tutorial does .... :S Apparently as a topic it's ok as this topic stays open, but a sticky is probably (and unfortunately) to much to ask for.

Your second tutorial is not good in the part of which juniors to keep, not to offend you, but if rookies would follow it as written, they would fire a 16 yo good with 3 weeks in start of season because they have to be +10 weeks according to what you write... they would also fire a 34 week 16 yo weak because you set 16 yo as high as average for minimum skill.... you neither take into account that coach estimations might be wrong, so firing a poor 16 yo might have been an average..... and if you want to keep an 18 yo good with 15 weeks, wouldnt an 17 yo average with 30 weeks be better??

Also writing they can use up to 25k euro on a stamina coach... :/ They start with only 250 k euro and need to save money where it is possible.... :) And training up to very good stamina?? Hopefully not on talents, as there would be waste of training later then... :)
